Three things I said I would never do: Get out of the news business, be a stay-at-home mom and start a blog. Well, looks like I am eating those words now. I left my full-time job as a television reporter to stay at home and raise my daughter. God bless the roving TV reporters out there who have babies and full time report. This girl wasn't going down that road. I can't say I will never go back, but I needed a break from news to and try and give my beautiful daughter a chance at a sane, not extremely neurotic, normal mom.
So this site is an attempt at trying not to lose my mind in the switch from being in on the action, dressing up fancy and being on TV to slumming around in my PJ's freelance writing.
Here is a fast version of me. I live in NJ, I am married to a pretty awesome guy named Josh and we have the cutest two-year-old on the planet, Lucia. Here is us on our wedding day.
Des Moines, Iowa June 2012.
I was born and raised in an intense Italian family in New Jersey. I went to college in NY and after graduation I started my career as a reporter. First for radio, then print and then television. In 2009, the job took me to Des Moines, Iowa where I started working for the ABC affiliate in the city.

In Iowa I met some of the most amazing and life changing people. Including my Ohio born, Kansas raised, Buckeye obsessed, husband Josh. We met at church in 2010 and married in 2012. Around this time is probably where this whole stay-at-home mom thing started to not look so insane. Anyway, after four years in Iowa and a ton of prayer, my husband and I decided it was time to move on and move back closer to my family and my awesome friends in New Jersey. I got a reporting job at a station in upstate NY and was anxious to get back to my crazy family on the east coast. In the summer of 2013 we left our dear friends in Iowa and head to New York!
My workers sent me out with a bang...yea...that balloon says "You're Amazing."
Saying goodbye was so hard!?!?
Our traveling verse
"But you will not leave in haste or go in flight; for the Lord will go before you, the God of Israel will be your guard. (Isaiah 52:12)"
We settled in upstate New York and I began working as a reporter and Josh as a financial adviser.

I loved my job, but television journalism is a crazy career. After six months on the job in NY things got real...and I got pregnant. So, I decided to give it up. Not an easy decision at all, but the right one. Once Lucia came along...it changed everything. I was blessed enough to be able to spend my days with this beauty! How lucky am I??
After living in NY for about two years we still did not feel like it was home. So Josh began to apply to other positions in surrounding cities. He ended up getting a great job in Philadelphia and the Duvall's were on the move again! We settled in a suburb outside of the city and now we are making our life here...for now at least!
