Look at how handsome he is! In June of 2012 I was lucky enough to marry this man. What a wonderful year and a half it has been. I can say without any reservation this man has made my life not only better, but has made me better. He is such a joy to live with and is always serving and loving me even when I am being crazy, snippy or selfish...and I can be all of those things. He loves the Lord above me, which is what my heart desired and he leads me towards the Lord daily...
A few weeks ago I had a post called"I hate religion". It was about a short and sweet Youtube video that gave a great message.
It's called spoken word...I'm sure you have heard of that before. Well, I love spoken word. At night sometimes when I can't sleep I will get on the Youtube on the channel P4CM - (Passion for Christ Movement) and other channels and watch spoken word videos for probably longer than I should.
Here are a few popular P4CM ones, that I like, for you to check out.
I got baby room on the brain!! I am gathering ideas for baby D's room, (got any? pass them along) which we will start once we find a home. Ugh, that is for another blog post (pray we find a great home!!). But I am gathering ideas, practical ones and not super expensive ones, for the baby's room so when we do get in the house I can get to work pronto! I can't wait!
Here is a list of some things I would love to do in baby's room, depending on if baby D is a boy or girl. Click on the picture to take you to the original site, which has more information about where to get the products or how to make them!
My father introduced me to essential oils about ten years ago and I have been hooked ever since. Essential oils are the oil that is extracted from a plant. Generally, they are extracted by distillation often by using steam, some are pressed.
These oils have been used medicinally for literally hundreds of years and in the past few, they have made a strong comeback. Many of them are known to purify the body and cleanse the skin...that's why you see them in a variety of products like soaps, perfumes, cleaning products, food and drinks. Here I am going to talk about my favorites, how I use them and why.
Baby D will be the first grandchild for my parents. So I knew they would be over the moon excited, my mom for sure. So I searched and searched for cute ways to tell them that we were pregs. Naturally, I took to Pinterest. Oh Pinterest how I love you.
My top ideas were these.
First I thought about getting a grandma and grandpa picture frame and putting a copy of the sonogram in it, wrap that sucker up and give that to them. Kind of like this.
This is a guest post by my husband Joshua Duvall on the interesting debate February 4th on NPR. I contributed a little but man these things get me fired up! =)
Evolution vs Creation. Wow, talk about a hot topic!
If you spent any time on a college campus with a Christian student group then you’ve probably been involved in or at least seen some heated debates among fellow students about this very topic. In fact, if you’re paying attention to our culture and current events you should come in contact with these ideas and their consequences regularly.
The global debate was taken one step further tonight, as two well known scientists went head to head in a live streaming event hosted by National Public Radio at the Creation Museum in Kentucky. Bill Nye, yes, Bill Nye the Science Guy! ...
This video made its way around the internet a few years ago. I remember seeing it on someones Facebook page and sharing it back them. It has found its way to me so I thought I would share it yet again.
It's only a four minute video but it says a lot.
I know so many close friends and family who have been hurt by religion. So many people turned off to JESUS because they see what damage RELIGION can do. Religion has started wars, turned people against each other, spewed hate and condemned. But there is a big difference between the religion that man made and the message of Jesus.
