We are just six weeks out from Baby girl...so we are getting some little projects done around the house and putting some finishing touches on the nursery. Because yes...I am aware of the fact that I will have no time and be very tired for a while.
So our first little project was to update and make these beat black chairs we had not look terrible. I think we got them for like $10 bucks somewhere. They were boring and ugly
So I bought some bright blue spray paint and some fabric from Joanne Fabrics to make some matching pillows. Total cost for both...about $9 dollars. I like the paint and primer spray, it covers so much better. I made Josh spray it so Baby D and I would not get any toxins...and he did a great job!
The finished product! With some pillows I made to match! I think they look super cute...and for about $10 bucks you can't beat it.
Then we added a small outdoor rug to match... and we love it!
Our next project was a small toy box for Baby girl's room. We only purchased a few toys, because I really am going to try my hardest to keep the toys to a minimum. I want her to have things to play with but I also do not want her to have 83904890238493 toys everywhere and be over stimulated constantly. When we were little, we played with just about anything and my mom was very creative when it came to making us and finding us creative things to keep us busy.
Anyway, I wanted something small to start with ...so while I was at Michael's I found this plain wooden box. With a coupon it came to about $7. If you go on Pinterest you will see these things being turned into just about anything! From coffee tables, to shelves...People have found a lot of uses for them.
So I thought this would be a cute toy box to start with for baby. The colors in the nursery are teal and pale pink, so first I painted (Josh painted =) the entire thing teal. Then I added some letters and cute flowers with some extra paint. I had all the paint so this only cost me time and $7! I think it came out cute and super cheap!
Notice the Buckeye colored football Josh had to get for her!! =)
